Rice Balls With Sesame



Cooked rice mixed with toasted white sesame seeds, peanuts, ginger and sugar, made into balls, covered with black sesame seeds and cooked in the microwave for half a minute.

Ingredients
  • Cooked basmati rice  1 cup
  • White sesame seeds          4 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds (black)       1/4 cup
  • Ginger,finely chopped       1 tbsp
  • Roasted peanuts,roasted   2 tbsp
  • Sugar                               1 1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice                     1 tsp



Method

Toast white sesame seeds in non stick pan for 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside. Put ginger, peanuts, toasted sesame seeds, salt, sugar and rice in a bowl and mix well. Add lemon juice and mix.

Cover a plate with cling wrap and spread some black sesame seeds on it. Put a portion of rice mixture on it. Sprinkle some more black sesame seeds on it. 

Wrap the cling film into a ball and seal. Prick ball once with a knife. Prepare remaining balls similarly. Cook in microwave for 30 seconds and remove from heat. Let it stand for 5 minutes. Cut seal, open wrap and remove rice ball. Serve immediately.
