It is one of the delicious recipe made of besan. I hope you will love the taste.
Ingredients
For Dakre:
- Gram flour or besan 1 1/2 cup
- Ajwain a pinch
- Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper 1/2 tsp
- Oil 2-3 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Crushed kasoori methi (optional) 1 tsp
For Kadi:
- Oil/ghee 3-4 tsp
- Whole red chili 2-3
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Onion, chopped 2
- Tomato, paste 2
- Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Dhania powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala 1/4 tsp
- Sprigs of coriander 4-5, chopped
Method for Gatte ki Sabji
For Dakre:
1) Mix all ingredients and make a firm dough using oil and warm water.
2) Divide the dough in 6-7 and roll them
3) Boil 4 cups of water and place there logs in the hot water. Let it boil for 6-7 mins. They are cooked when they stats floating.
4) Remove it from hot water. Let it cool for a min. or so. Cut them in small pieces and set them aside.
For Kadi: (You can use curd in this recipe but my mom's recipe does not include any curd and my taste is developed without it...)
1) In a pan, add oil. Add, mustard seeds and whole red chili. Stir for few secs.
2) Add, chopped onion,saute it. now add Tomato paste. other masalas and salt. Saute it untill the masala leaves oil.
3) Now add, dakre and stir for 3-4 mins. Sprinkle water in between.
4) Add 3 cups of water
5) Give it 2-3 boils and simmer the heat for 5 min. Serve it hot. (After cooling gravy will become thick,so you can add more water also later but only boiled water)
