Kaddu ki sabji



It's Sweet, sour and spicy pumpkin recipe.

Ingredients
  • Red pumpkin (bhopla/kaddu) 500 gms
  • Oil                                         1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1 tsp
  • Green chillies,chopped         2
  • Turmeric powder                 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder                 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder                 2 tsp
  • Salt                                         to taste
  • Sugar                                 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice                       1 teaspoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves  1 tablespoon

Method

Peel pumpkin and cut into one inch pieces. Heat oil. Add fenugreek seeds, chopped green chillies, pumpkin pieces and stir. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and sauté. Add quarter cup of water, salt and bring to a boil. 

Reduce the heat, cover and cook till done. Mash the pumpkin pieces. Add sugar and lemon juice. Mix well. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.

Note: You can add Gur instead of sugar in the recipe and you can also add amchur in it.
